Zach created a landscape design for our front and backyard. The design and quote were detailed and met our needs. During installation (zeroscape front, new sod in back, new irrigation, privacy screens and planting) Zach was great with communication and talked us through everything. His recommendations were spot on and we love it all. I would highly recommend using Oak & Stone.

Zach is extremely knowledgeable on everything trees, plants and irrigation systems. He is fantastic to work with because he takes the time to understand what your landscape goals are and what fits best with your existing setup. He is also cost conscious …. he carefully works with you to pick the best vegetation in consideration of your budget. His business practices are organized and professional regarding estimates, billing and change orders. He does much of the work himself (highly skilled in installing the plantings and adjusting the drip lines) so you need to get your estimate completed as soon as possible so you can fit into his in-demand schedule. Zach is a great guy and highly professional. I highly recommend Oak & Stone!!

Zach of Oak & Stone Design recently completed a very complex backyard remodel that we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. After collaborating with Zach, we came up with a combination of xeriscape and natural woodland design to complement our existing landscape. Zach designed and installed a natural rock water feature that feeds into a dry creek bed of river rock. He also installed three natural looking stone walls bordering our existing mulch beds along with several river rock borders on our other mulch beds. Zach used his extensive knowledge of plants, shrubs and trees to guide us in picking plants that are appropriate for our design, yard, and region. He and Jack installed a water saving drip irrigation system to complement our existing sprinkler system. I can’t emphasize enough the difficulties they had to overcome working around our thirty-year-old sprinkler system and mature tree roots. Zach and his team also installed three privacy screens and plants in a mulch bed bordered by large river rock. They also installed an optional lighting system to demonstrate how the screens and trees would look at night with accents lights on them. After doing extensive dirt work Zach and his crew laid a sandstone patio. He tried his best with the original sandstone we picked but soon decided it was too thin and would crumble over time. Zach took it upon himself to work with the stone vendor to get the original sandstone returned and a much thicker sandstone delivered in its place. Thank you, Zach and Jack the results were well worth it! We recommend Oak & Stone Design whole heartedly. Thank You Zack and Jack

Right from the start Oak and Stone design were great to communicate with and very thorough during the prepping process. By far they asked the most questions about design and scope which shows they are thoughtful and want to make their customers happy. During our backyard renovation, - which included a flagstone patio, paver paths, a paver patio and a the building of a pergola - Zach and Jack were kind, considerate of our needs and demonstrated a proficiency of their craft. Zach continued to ask great questions, communicated clearly and often made helpful suggestions; certainly going above and beyond what we expected. He even took the time to coordinate with an electrician which took a lot of pressure off of us during the early stages. We are very happy with the high quality work Oak and Stone design has done for us and look forward to working with them again in the future. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

a $2,000 WATER BILL?!

The stakes are high on design and build projects. When a project is installed incorrectly, it often has to be completely torn out and rebuilt to rectify the issues. We’ve been brought in to correct landscapes where stressed plants had died, irrigation systems failed, and patios sank. We’ve seen incorrectly installed irrigation systems flood basements, kill plants, wash out yards, and result in $2,000 water bills. There isn’t much that can be done to salvage these botched jobs.

We strongly recommend working with a design and build company that is equipped to build the complex designs that they produce. Separating the designer from the builder frequently results in the scenario described above. Instead of saving money, you end up paying twice.

We stand behind our work with plant guarantees and product warranties. And if you need to reach us later with issues, we’ll be happy to come make the situation right. As a small, local company, we fully rely on our solid reputation to stay in business, so we remain committed to going the extra mile to delight our clients.
